Made in Piedmont is born
The association forms around the defining premise of developing and promoting a collective Piedmontese wine heritage.
One of Made in Piedmont’s first projects, the Wine Webcam is a network of webcams installed in the vineyards at various Member Wineries. The live feed provides an in-real-time experience, 365 days a year, of Piedmont’s evocative vineyard landscape.
Made in Piedmont is present for the first time at Vinexpo Bordeaux with a large stand (over 100m2) to promote the best wine from Piedmont.
In collaboration with Collisioni, Piedmont’s iconic culture and music festival, the Progetto Vino is born: tastings, meetings, winery tours, lunches and dinners with producers for international visitors to experience first-hand the authentic spirit of the territory.
In collaboration with world-renowed Italian wine expert, Ian d’Agata, Made in Piedmont inaugurates the Indigena project, the first international program dedicated to teaching Piedmont’s native appellations. Indigenous has a global footprint. Events include foreign missions, intensive courses about the terroir, press trips and educational winery tours for communication professionals, sommeliers, importers and journalists.
Made in Piedmont publishes a wine tourism guide featuring all Member Wineries. It is an online and offline tool to create customized itineraries to discover the best wineries in Piedmont. Detailed information about stops, routes and tastings is provided.
